Project Overview
Not for quick edits or price-first work.
- Category: Corporate Documentary
- Client: PMRC
- Distribution: Annual Conference / Corporate Report
PMRC set out to communicate the real impact of its work in Pakistan’s housing finance ecosystem. While the organization had been creating meaningful opportunities through partnerships with banks and microfinance institutions, the scale and human impact of that work were not fully visible to stakeholders. The documentary was designed to bring clarity, credibility, and emotional depth to PMRC’s story — positioning it as a catalyst for accessible housing across Pakistan.
The Challenge
PMRC has been working hard to create opportunities in Pakistan’s housing market, but their impact wasn’t being clearly communicated. They needed a film that could show stakeholders and dignitaries exactly how their work changes lives—and do it in time for their annual conference in Islamabad.
Our Approach
Instead of a scripted narrator, we chose a documentary-style format led by real voices:
- PMRC’s CEO
- CEOs and heads from partner banks and microfinance institutions (HBL Microfinance Bank, Bank Alfalah, Meezan Bank, Bank of Punjab, Akhuwat, Thardeep Microfinance Foundation, SAFCO)
- Beneficiaries who had been able to own homes thanks to PMRC’s partnerships
We followed a 3-act structure:
- The State of Housing – Challenges and needs
- The Solutions – How PMRC and partners are helping
- The Impact – Real stories from real people
Behind the Scenes
We started with a Documentary Overview (a simple concept doc) that won quick approval from PMRC’s CEO, Mr. Mudassir H. Khan.
From there, a small, dedicated crew traveled by van from Karachi to Lahore to Islamabad, filming interviews and on-location stories. We worked on a tight budget but kept the visuals cinematic and professional.
The Result
The finished documentary:
- Premiered at PMRC’s annual stakeholders conference in Islamabad
- Received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the client and audience
- Was delivered two weeks ahead of the event
- Provided extra footage for PMRC’s annual report
The client was so happy that there are now talks about a retainer arrangement.
Why This Project Matters
For CP Films, this wasn’t just another corporate job. It proved we can:
- Deliver national-scale productions on a tight timeline
- Work efficiently with a small crew and limited resources
- Tell human-centered stories that move policy conversations forward
This project has become a turning point in our portfolio and a reminder of what’s possible with focus, planning, and the right team.
